MADISON, Ill. (September 24, 2025) – Daniel Wilkerson and the SCAG Power Equipment Ford Mustang Funny Car team are primed for a pivotal weekend at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway, the third of six races in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.
After a strong final quad appearance at the NHRA Four-Wide Carolina Nationals, where he earned semifinal points and jumped from 10th to seventh in the points standings, Wilkerson, a Springfield, Illinois native, is eager to capitalize on the team’s momentum at their home track.
“Coming off a great weekend in Charlotte, this team knows we have what it takes to win at our home track,” Wilkerson said. “We are expecting a big turnout, not only from family and friends but from SCAG dealers and Midwest Equipment and Supply Company. To get our first win at home in front of all these special people would be one for the history books.”
As the NHRA Countdown intensifies, Wilkerson and his SCAG Power Equipment team are focused on delivering a standout performance at World Wide Technology Raceway. With strong support from local fans and sponsors, the team is poised to chase their first victory. At last year’s Midwest Nationals, Wilkerson had a season best No. 5 qualifying effort and a quarterfinal exit. Father and crew chief Tim Wilkerson, does have a history at the facility, picking up a win at the facility in 2008.
Competition at this weekend’s NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals starts with four rounds of qualifying, Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. and Saturday at 12:15 and 3 p.m. Eliminations are slated for Sunday at 11 a.m. Television coverage of the event will be FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with a qualifying show Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET and eliminations show to follow at 3 p.m. ET.
