INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 27, 2025) – Justin Ashley, driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster, is primed to compete at this weekend’s iconic Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

“The U.S. Nationals is the most prestigious race in the history of NHRA Drag Racing,” Ashley said. “It represents years of tradition, excellence, and the highest levels of performance. There is no place I’d rather be than at the racetrack competing with our SCAG Power Equipment team.”

Ashley and the SCAG Toyota team enter the U.S. Nationals sitting fourth in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel points standings with wins in Richmond, Virginia and Norwalk, Ohio. So far this season, the 2020 Rookie of the Year has made a total of five final rounds appearances and secured a No. 1 qualifying position in Ohio. Ashley is coming of a first-round exit at the Lucas Oil National in Minnesota, only his third first-round loss of the year and first since 10 races ago at the Winternationals in March.

Ashley has a solid history at Indianapolis Raceway Park. He won at the storied facility during the COVID-19 abbreviated 2020 season and in both 2023 and 2024 he won the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, a specialty race within a race with prize money and championship bonus points on the line. In doing so, he also won the overall Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge season title.

“The key is to take it one lap at a time,” continued Ashley whose father, Mike, won the U.S. Nationals in Funny Car in 2007. “As big as the U.S. Nationals is, it’s still a drag race that’s run the same way as the others. All we can control is being our very best both on and off the racetrack. The rest will take care of itself. We’re confident and ready to perform at a high level.”

Competition at the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals starts with five rounds of qualifying Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 12:30 and 3:15 p.m. and Sunday at noon and 2:45 p.m. Eliminations will take place Labor Day Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Television coverage of the event will begin on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with a qualifying show Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, a show dedicated to covering the PlayNHRA All-Star Funny Car Callout at 5 p.m. ET and a second qualifying show at 6:30 p.m. ET. Eliminations will begin to air Monday on FS1 at noon ET before switching over to FOX Broadcasting Network (FOX) for live eliminations at 2 p.m. ET.
