BRISTOL, Tenn. (June 04, 2025) – Justin Ashley and the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team are eager for this weekend’s Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.
Coming off a quarterfinal exit just a handful of days ago at the New England Nationals, Ashley and the SCAG Toyota team appreciate the quick turnaround to race eight of 20 on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series 2025 schedule.
“I’ve always felt that back-to-back races are important for continuity,” Ashley said. “It’s critical for the purposes of getting into a consistent rhythm and routine. We’re fortunate to have had a lot of success at Bristol in the past. Now we’re eager to take what we learned last weekend in Epping, New Hampshire and have the opportunity to apply it right away.”
Ashley, the 2020 NHRA Rookie of the Year, has two victories at iconic Bristol Dragway. He hoisted the Wally in back-to-back events in 2022 and 2023. His 2023 win came after he also won the postponed New England Nationals and the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge on Friday and Saturday, respectively. This season, the SCAG dragster sits fifth in the points standings and is looking for its first visit to the winners circle.
“It’s our goal to win both on and off the racetrack every weekend,” Ashley added. “That starts with the people, and I truly believe we have the best. We are a championship team that’s been knocking at the door. Now it’s about opening it up and putting this SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel Dragster into the winners circle.”
With a talented crew led by crew chiefs Mike Green and Tommy DeLago, Ashley’s team is poised to fine-tune their setup and deliver a competitive performance in front of the passionate Bristol fans. The Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals kicks off with four sessions of qualifying Friday at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m., followed by eliminations on Sunday at noon.
